It is now up to you sailors to send me information on what you did what you enjoyed and any stories you want added to the reunion pages. email me at donald@caperton.info Posted on 31 May 2008 by AdminReunion Page Update Begins!I have finally begun updating the Reunion Pages. When you click on Reunion in the menu you will be taken to a listing of reunions. To the left of each reunion is a view link. When you click on view you will go to a summary of that Reunion. If there is nothing on the page and you were there, then send me your thoughts on that reunion. Heck, even if there is already something there send me your thoughts anyway! For photos of the reunions head over to the photo gallery. Posted on 10 Feb 2008 by AdminNew CD-Books Available!I have updated the CD-Books page to include a new CD-Book. It is the Ship's Organization Book and Ship's Orders for the USS Caperton. Originally published in 1943 at launch, I am offering it in two formats. While It is available in the usual CD-ROM format as other offerings, I am also making a printed version available for those who either do not use a computer or do not which to print the 100+ pages out. I have printed it on acid free paper and used a comb binding that will allow the book to lay flat when it is open to ANY page! I will try to get samples up soon. I have also set up ordering directly from the USSCaperton.info website so you no longer need to go to my other site to buy books. The order will still however go thru White Rose Web Design's PayPal account. Posted on 05 Feb 2008 by AdminGuest Book is Back!I have written a new Guest Book Program that will help keep out the Spammers. Please feel free to leave a message. I will then review them and publish the non-spam messages. Posted on 01 Dec 2007 by AdminNew Link to Mr. Hawkins WebsiteSince the original site is no longer available, I have changed the link in the links page to the new location for the www.capertondd650.com website formerly run by Mr. Earl Hawkins. You may also visit the site by going directly to www.capertondd650.com Posted on 04 Nov 2007 by AdminSailors Database UpdatedI have updated the sailors database with the information I have received via email. This included 10 new sailors and additional information for another 5 or 6 sailors. Posted on 04 Feb 2007 by AdminSite Attacked AgainApparently there are those out there that have nothing better to do than attack sites that really have nothing to do with them. I discovered last week that hackers were using the Guest book to send spam and viruses to other computers. Additionally the USSCaperton.info site was damaged severely in this attack. Fortunately I had a current backup so after about a day I was able to bring the site back online. Unfortunately I am no longer willing to have a Guestbook on the site. I do however still like receiving the emails that I get from former sailors so keep them coming! They can still be sent to donald@caperton.info Posted on 23 Dec 2006 by AdminPhotogallery "look" UpdatedI have changed the look and feel of the photogallery theme. The gallery now looks more like it is a part of the site. Posted on 23 Nov 2006 by AdminLinks Page UpdatedI have added a new link to the links page that links to a site about the February 1944 collision between the USS Indiana and the USS Washington. Two new pages have been added. the DD-650 Books link will take you to a page that offers books about the USS Caperton for sale on computer CD's. At the top of that page is a terms link that will give you more information on CD Books. What is NOT on the page are the links to paypal to actually purchase the CD's. I hope to get the links setup by the end of this week-end. In the mean time if you would like to order any of these CD's you can do so at our sister site www.caperton.info/cdbooks.html Posted on 07 Mar 2006 by AdminProgress Report on USSCaperton.infoMost of the links are now working. The message board and photogallery are functioning although I have not moved the photos over yet. The FAQ page and the Whats New page are sporting their new look, as are the In Memorium page and In The News page. The Association and the listing of Sailors who have served are still being worked on. Posted on 01 Mar 2006 by AdminThe Move Begins!I have moved the pages that refer to the ship onto their new home at www.usscaperton.info. I now have to clean up the links so that you can actually get to all the pages! Once this is done I will begin moving the photos into the photogallery and improving the sailors database. For now, all of the Ship information will remain on the family history site.
